Privacy policy
TinNotes is a tasting journal. This policy covers what we store when you use it, why, and how to get it back or have it erased.
What we collect
Your email address and a password hash, so you can sign in. If you sign in with Google, we store the provider identifier instead of a password.
Everything you deliberately write: sessions, ratings, tasting notes, flavour tags, pipe inventory, photos, and who you follow. This is the content of the service, and most of it is public by default — you can make your profile private in Settings at any time.
What we do not do
We do not sell or share your personal information, and there is no advertising on TinNotes. Google permits organic tobacco review content but bans tobacco advertising, and we have no interest in it either way.
We do not track you across other sites. Analytics, if enabled, is aggregate and cookieless.
Your data, on request
Export downloads everything you have written as a zip of JSON plus your original photos, immediately, from the Account page. Deletion is also self-serve: your account is disabled at once and erased 30 days later, and signing in during that window cancels it.
After erasure your reviews remain on the blend pages credited to “a former member”, so the catalogue keeps its aggregate ratings. Your photos are deleted. If you would rather your review text went with you, delete the individual sessions before deleting the account.
Age
TinNotes is for adults. We show a 21+ acknowledgment and remember it in a cookie. We do not verify identity documents, and no products are sold here.
Contacting us
One person runs this site. Email reaches them directly, and requests about your data are handled by hand rather than by a ticket system.
